We just launched a new version of Navizon called Navizon Lite. This version will let you get your position using the closest cell towers around you with an accuracy of approximately 1500 meters (1 mile), something similar to what Google Maps offers with its "My location" feature. Navizon Lite is available for the iPhone, Windows Mobile, Symbian/Nokia and Blackberry devices.
For those of you who need a more accurate positioning system, Navizon (full version) might be for you. It includes the power of Wifi positioning combined with Cellular positioning, offering you an accuracy of approximately 10 to 30 meters in an urban setting.
Navizon Lite includes a 15 day free trial of the full version. Once your trial period expires, it will automatically switch to the Lite version unless you decide to upgrade to the full version for a one-time fee of $24.99.
Here's a little side-by-side comparison between Navizon Lite and the full version of Navizon:

Just download Navizon GPS on Installer.app. It will automatically switch to Navizon Lite after your trial of the full version expires (if you want to keep the Lite version on your phone).

I find one major problem with the iPhone app. When Navizon can't find me for whatever reason, it wont allow me to view friends through the iPhone app. So if I can't be found, it assumes my friends can't be found either?
This friend just happens to be on the other side of the building, and we're just testing this functionality.

Does it work in Europe? Sweden more specifically?

> Does it work in Europe? Sweden more specifically?
Yes it does. Actually, it works worldwide as long as the area you're in is covered.

It does not seem to switch to the lite version. (My trial expired and it just gives me the option to cancel or purchase at the website)

why is there no option to add locations manually? via google maps for example? if i know where i am and i have wifi/cell tower coverage then it would be cool to be able to add my location manually... that way i could help make navizon more accurate even though i can't connect my bluetooth GPS to my iphone right now... (hopefully apple allows GPS BT connection ASAP!!!)

Does Navizon can work off-line ? In my country, GPRS/EDGE data cost a lot.

Is it, or will it be possible to pre-record trip maps? It would be benificial to have the path road and a width of one or two miles from the path, for gas and food stops. This way those of us which use WiFi, and/or are too cheap to pay a $45/mo unlimited data plan, can access the map for the entire trip.
I'm planning a 1000mi family trip for later this year. For this, a recorded path map and antcipated local driving areas would be useful.
Also, what about satellite images for the mobile devices. I can see those images on the PC, but not on my WM6PPC. With my 2Gb micro-SD, I have memory to burn.
And is there a way I can turn on a scale so I have an idea how far a mile is on the present zoom level? Maybe I'm just missing this or could it be registry defineable.
Another thing would be an option to have odd shaped areas. For example; my usual driving path is roughly due east 18mi and ten miles north or south of the direct path;; but on weekends I go due north about 25-30 miles with a East/West of center no more than 5 mile. If I use the full rectangel box, instead of an "L", then, that would be about 300 sq mi of wasted data.
